Apex Legends Ballistic - Abilities, Lore, And Everything We Know

['Apex Legends\' latest episode of Stories From The Outlands, titled "Encore," has finally introduced players to Apex\'s 24th legend: August "Ballistic" Brinkman, a former Thunderdome champion who retired from the Games after tragedy struck. But now he\'s un-retiring, determined to take his son\'s place in the Apex Games.', 'The Encore trailer (and the launch trailer that followed it) contains loads of context clues that--combined with leaked details regarding his in-game abilities--paint a much clearer picture of the silver-haired legend. Keep reading for a closer look at the newest character slated to hit Apex Legends when Season 17: Arsenal goes live on May 9.', 'You need a javascript enabled browser to watch videos.', '\n Want us to remember this setting for all your devices?\n ', 'Sign up or Sign in now!\n ', "\n By clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's\n Terms of Use and\n Privacy Policy", 'enter', 'Now Playing: Apex Legends | Stories from the Outlands - “Encore” Cinematic Trailer', 'Callsign: Ballistic', 'Real Name: August Montgomery Brinkman', 'Age: 63', 'Home World: Gaea', 'Class: Assault', 'Apex Games Tagline: Refined Gunslinger', 'Respawn describes Ballistic as a "refined older gentleman living with a beast inside." Once a popular Thunderdome Games competitor with a penchant for bravado and showmanship, August Brinkman is now coming out of a decades-long retirement after to reclaim his place in the spotlight. But this time, he\'s not doing it for his own benefit.', "First unearthed by dataminers, Ballistic's in-game abilities were recently confirmed by Respawn, and we've listed them below.", "Ballistic's legend-exclusive abilities are as follows:", "Another detail that has been confirmed is Ballistic's legend class. According to his official bio, Ballistic is an Assault-class legend, meaning he has the following class-based abilities:", "Ballistic's legend abilities combined with his Assault-class perks will undoubtedly make him a serious challenge to face in combat. With the ability to carry extra ammo and force enemies to lose control of their weapons, legends who encounter him in battle will want to plan their attack carefully.", 'August was an only child, and thus the sole heir to his family’s fortune. Sadly, that fortune was built on some rather shady business practices. These practices eventually came back to bite the Brinkman family, leaving August parentless. Furious, filthy rich, and seeking self-destruction, August joined the deadly Thunderdome Games, despite having no need for the increased income most Thunderdome competitors sought when signing up to fight.', "As revealed in both Encore and his official bio, Ballistic was once a champion of the Thunderdome Games, a now-defunct bloodsport similar to the Apex Games. But he's not the only legend familiar with Thunderdome matches--Makoa Gibraltar was also a big fan of the place, having manned the concession stand in his youth. Gibraltar claims that he learned some of his current combat techniques from watching Thunderdome competitors, and even shared his first kiss with ex-boyfriend Nik inside the arena.", 'Given the amount of time Gibraltar spent hanging around the Thunderdome, Gibraltar is likely familiar with Ballistic. Several recently uncovered lines of character dialogue appear to suggest that the two legends know each other.', '"Huh, Ballistic? The Ballistic? That brings back memories, bruddah," Gibraltar muses in the leaked audio file. "I always bet on him back in my Thunderdome days. Gonna be wild squadding up with his kid."', "But in many ways, this little lore tidbit raises more questions than it answers. As seen in Ballistic's episode of Stories From The Outlands, Ballistic's son, Nathaniel, is not joining the Apex Games. Ballistic went out of his way to ensure this was the case, so why on Earth do Gibraltar and Mirage seem to think Nathaniel is showing up?It seems the answer is located in the Firing Range, where a cargo shuttle signaling Ballistic's arrival can be found.", "Nearby is a collection of gossip magazines speculating on the current state of Ballistic's family while also implying his son is joining the Apex Games. When players interact with the pile of magazines, the datamined dialogue will usually play, suggesting that Ballistic's return to bloodsports may not have been made public--or perhaps indicating that the news of his comeback simply hasn't reached the rest of the Outlands yet. Either way, it seems like at least two legends will be surprised to see Ballistic enter the ring instead of his son.", 'In Encore, Ballistic breaks into Torres "Duardo" Silva\'s office, leaving a trail of carnage in his wake when Silva\'s security team tries to stop him. Eventually, he has Silva at gunpoint, demanding that he be allowed to join the Apex Games. Ballistic tells Silva (who seems surprisingly relaxed, given the circumstances) that it\'ll do wonders for Apex\'s ratings.', 'Silva replies with a question.', '"And for this you want what, old friend?"', 'The interaction clearly implies the two have a history, but details regarding their relationship are not revealed.', 'It\'s possible that Silva may have used his position as CEO of Silva Pharmaceuticals to pull some strings for Ballistic in the past. This is thoroughly speculative, of course, but "Encore" is full of hints about Ballistic\'s medical status.', "As with all of Apex's cinematic trailers, Encore's premiere kicked off with a two-minute countdown timer only visible to those watching the premiere. Interestingly, a commercial for an anti-aging drug makes up the entirety of the countdown. The drug--known as Legentifax--has a host of potential drug interactions (along with a comically long list of horrific side effects), but appears to be in high demand nonetheless. As far as use goes, Legentifax appears to be a miraculous anti-aging tonic. Despite its repulsive ingredient list (which includes prowler blood), the pros of Legentifax appear to outweigh the cons, keeping its users youthful and strong for far longer than nature would otherwise allow. The drug's manufacturer is none other than--you guessed it--Silva Pharmaceuticals.", 'In Season 12\'s main storyline, it was revealed that Torres "Duardo" Silva is over 100 years old, despite looking to be in his mid-forties. Players also learned the wealthy CEO had murdered his own son (and Octane\'s father), stealing his identity for reasons unknown. Given the fact that Torres owns and controls Silva Pharmaceuticals, use of Legentifax is arguably the best explanation for both his longevity and his shockingly youthful appearance.', "But Torres isn't the only person who appears to be chugging Legentifax--Ballistic appears to be on it as well. Encore opens with a disorienting POV shot of the inside of a blender. Blood-red liquid swirls violently for a few seconds before the shot cuts away to reveal that Ballistic is making a smoothie. A bottle of alcohol can be seen on the countertop, but the rest of the smoothie's contents are unknown. Still, the amount of screentime the smoothie gets combined with the odd pharmaceutical commercial that players were shown immediately before the premiere suggests that Legentifax smoothies may be Ballistic's current drink of choice. It may be possible that Legentifax use is the source of his relationship with Torres Silva.", 'According to his official bio, August is 63 years old, making him the oldest legend to join the Apex Games (a title that previously belonged to 55-year-old Fuse). August\'s age further supports the theory that Ballistic is using Legentifax. In addition to being one letter shy of the word "legend," Legentifax usage would also explain how Torres and Ballistic first came to know each other. It certainly explains how a grey-haired shut-in managed to get himself in shape for a cutthroat bloodsport after years of no practice', "Soon after joining the Thunderdome Games, Ballistic became a fan-favorite, gaining a reputation for his flamboyant, performative combat style. Though this made him popular among fans of the Thunderdome games, it had a much more negative effect on his personal life. But by pushing away the trauma of his parents' murder and choosing to focus on becoming a bloodsport crowd-pleaser indstead, August pushed something else away, too: his family.", "According to the Encore cinematic, Ballistic's fighting style in Thunderdome matches was flamboyant, performative, and dangerous. Far more dangerous than the Apex Games, in fact. This was mainly due to the fact that Respawn Beacons were not available at the time, meaning players who died in a Thunderdome match turned into a corpse instead of a deathbox--permanently.", "Ballistic's penchant for peacocking eventually led to the tragic death of a squadmate, but not just any squadmate--Ballistic's self-centered playstyle got one of his family members killed. Worst of all, it could have been avoided, if only August hadn't allowed his own narcissism to get the better of him.", "Ballistic's refusal to focus on anyone but himself during matches resulted in the death of his brother-in-law, Kit Siang Phua. This destroyed his relationship with his remaining teammate, who happened to also be his wife, Sok Leng Phua. Sick of August's careless, selfish, and reckless behavior, Sok Leng left August for good, taking their son Nathaniel with her.", 'Interestingly, an in-game magazine cover (identical to the one in the Firing Range) suggests Sok may have had something to do with the invention or improvement of the Flatline.', "Ballistic is always seen sporting a pair of orange-red sunglasses. This isn't too surprising--after all, one of the Apex Games arenas is located on a planet that experiences summer year-round. But keeping Solace's scorching sunlight out of his eyes isn't the real reason why August is always wearing these stylish shades--the truth is, they used to belong to Kit Siang. August dons his late brother-in-law's glasses as a reminder of the mistake he made. The lenses may have a rosy tint to them, but it's clear that August now sees the world (and his previous actions) in a new light. Ballistic's protective eye gear is worn as a reminder to honor the dead--and a warning to never let it happen again.", "But although August seems to have turned a new leaf, it's clear he still enjoys competing in bloodsports. It's also quite clear that he's happy to be back in the limelight again--even though he had to steal his son's spot in the Games to even get there. He claims his reasons for doing so are entirely altruistic, and while he does seem to have changed, it's too early to tell if he's truly a changed man, or simply can't bear the thought of being left out of the limelight,", "He's estranged from his son", "Even after getting his wife's brother killed, Ballistic didn't learn his lesson. Sinking into a years-long state of substance abuse and self-pity, he spent years ignoring his son. Tears and pleas for his father's attention went ignored, so Nathaniel and his mother both left the Brinkman family mansion. It seems that Nathanial also chose to take his mother's last name instead of his father's.", "Still, Ballistic appears to truly love his son, despite struggling to show it. His desire to take Nathaniel's place as an Apex legend seems to come from a genuine desire to protect his son at any cost, though it's unlikely Nathaniel will see it that way. Ballistic seems to believe he's doing Nathaniel a favor, but it's possible that the idea of being upstaged by his son also played a part in his decision to join the games. Even the bloodiest Apex match is still much safer than the tamest Thunderdome match ever played, simply because the Apex Games aren't meant to end in death.", 'No, not the kind you drive--though he likely has a garage full of high-quality hovercars somewhere in that massive mansion. But the CAR SMG is Ballistic\'s weapon-of-choice. This was hinted at in the various Season 17 trailers that gave players a look at the inside of his home. Eagle-eyed fans may have noticed a CAR SMG--short for "Combat Advanced Round Submachine Gun"--framed on the wall of his study.', 'Originally debuting in the Titanfall series, the versatile weapon arrived at the Apex Games alongside Ash in Season 11. The weapon was manufactured by Siwhan Industries, and it has apparently served August well for years, because in addition to displaying the firearm in his home like a piece of fine art, he\'s also given his CAR SMG a special name: "Lady Grey."', 'The origins and meaning behind this name are not yet known.', ' ', "Like Valkyrie, Ballistic seems to enjoy a good drink (or three), and it seems as though anti-aging smoothies aren't his only vice. His episode of Stories From The Outlands depicts him surrounded by an ever-increasing number of booze bottles as he sinks further and further into his depression. Even the teaser tweet Respawn posted the night before Encore premiered showed off his well-stocked bar.", 'pic.twitter.com/17q72czXq6', "Here's hoping he gets things under control before he gets behind the wheel of a Trident... or finds out that Loba destroyed his beloved Thunderdome.", 'Apex Legends is free to play on console and PC. A mobile version of the game, Apex Legends Mobile, is available to play on Android and iOS devices, but will be sunset on May 1.']

탄도요? Ballistic의 Stories From the Outlands 에피소드에서 볼 수 있듯이, Ballistic의 아들인 Nathaniel은 Apex Games에 참가하지 않을 것이다. 사실 에이펙스 게임보다 훨씬 더 위험합니다.

Fortnite's Star Wars Event Adds Force Powers, Mini Battle Pass, And A Free Skin

['Epic Games and Lucasfilm are pulling out all the stops this May the 4th with the Find the Force event in Fortnite. This three-week extravaganza is all about the prequels, adding skins for Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Darth Maul and six different clone troopers, several of which can be unlocked in a mini-battle pass that includes both free and paid rewards. All of this comes alongside a host of new Star Wars-inspired gameplay features to Battle Royale, including Force powers and a much more accurate new blaster rifle.', 'And, oh yeah--lightsabers are back, plus Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Darth Maul are now roaming the island.', "Fortnite's item shop has already been updated with four new Star Wars skins: Anakin, Padme, and a pair of Clone Troopers: the 501st Trooper and a 212th Battalion Trooper. Beyond that, this update also added skins for Darth Maul and four other clone troopers, which are obtainable by completing Find the Force quests.", "The Find the Force event comes with an event rewards track similar to the Dragon Ball Z event last summer, or the Most Wanted event a couple months back. It's akin to a battle pass in that you unlock rewards as you progress through the track, but instead of using XP to progress, you have to complete the event quests to earn Galactic Reputation to level up.", "Unlike those two past events, Find the Force has a premium track that you have to pay 1,000 V-Bucks to unlock. The basic Clone Trooper skin is the final reward on the free track. If you buy the premium track, you'll get the Coruscant Guard skin immediately, and the final premium reward is the Darth Maul skin. You'll also earn the Wolf Pack Trooper and the Ahsoka's Clone Trooper skins along the way from the premium track, in addition to several other cosmetics that you can earn on the premium and free tracks.", "The quests you'll need to complete to unlock these skins will come in three main groups. The first group of quests is live now, with a second group coming on May 7, and a third on May 12. If you complete at least 12 quests from each of these groups, you'll earn the Sith Infiltrator glider. The Sith Infiltrator, in case you're wondering, is Maul's ship that we saw him use in The Phantom Menace. There will also be a fourth wave of quests that won't help you earn that glider, but will help you complete the reward tracks.", 'Unlike a normal season battle pass, nothing here should be considered exclusive to the event. In the fine print, Epic specifically has reserved the right to sell the event rewards in the item shop later.', "On top of all that, Fortnite's Battle Royale is getting an injection of all-new Star Wars gameplay mechanics, including Force powers and the new, longer-ranged DC-15 rifle that'll make you a lot more accurate than a stormtrooper.", "To learn the ways of the Force you'll need training, and to get training you'll need to find one of Obi-Wan, Anakin or Darth Maul. Accept their training, and you'll get a lightsaber that matches the color of your teacher's blade, and Force abilities that you can use any time you have that lightsaber out for the remainder of the match--or until you drop the lightsaber or die.", "Which powers you have will depend on your teacher. Obi-Wan will teach you Force Push, and Anakin will teach you Force Pull--these can be used on both objects and players. Darth Maul, meanwhile, will teach you Force Throw. But that one is for objects only--you can't Force Throw other players.", "This has been a lot, but there's still one more thing: a new Discord quest that will net you the Coruscant's Pride wrap on completion. There are two ways to complete this quest: by streaming Fortnite to a Discord friend for 15 minutes, or by completing an in-game objective given in the Find the Force text channel on the official Fortnite Discord.", 'The Find the Force event runs until May 23.']

Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 Guide: Medallions, Armor, New Scout Rifle, And Exotic

["The annual Destiny 2 Guardian Games event has returned for 2023, and it comes with some adjustments, new rewards to earn, and an event card. As always, this is a class-based event that pits Titans vs. Warlocks vs. Hunters for bragging rights over the next year. Here's the full rundown on what you need to know about earning medallions, scoring in Supremacy mode, and obtaining the new scout rifle, Exotic sparrow, and Heir Apparent catalyst.", 'To get underway, visit the Tower and speak with Eva Levante. The Tower has been adorned with a bunch of vaguely Olympics-y decorations, and Eva will be the key vendor throughout the event.', 'Eva will give you a new Guardian Games class item, and you should keep it equipped during the event. Completing activities with this class item equipped will earn you medallions, which is the currency used to push your class toward victory and earn yourself rewards. You should also note that the class item is required to make progress on certain bounties offered by Eva.', "Eva will eventually have you speak with Zavala and Shaxx to round out the breadth of the event, but you'll want to make sure you buy your first Card from Eva. This will unlock the ability to purchase Guardian Games bounties and get you started on the core of the event.", "Your first real task is an event challenge to earn a medallion and then redeem it at the kiosk at the Tower. You can jump into a quick Crucible match or whatever activity you wish. Once that's done, head back to the Tower and visit the podium behind Eva. Visit the corresponding node for your class to bank any medallions you've earned to complete this quest step and contribute to your class's progress--all players of the same class will be contributing to the cause during the event.", 'This first event challenge should earn you some rewards (more on those below) and unlock access to the other 16 event challenges.', "As noted above, you'll earn medallions regardless of the activity you're playing, so long as you're wearing your Guardian Games class item. But while you'll primarily earn bronze medallions through standard activity completions, there are a few other ways to obtain higher rarity medallions as well.", "The primary method of obtaining gold and platinum medallions is through the Contender Cards (1,000 Glimmer) and Platinum Cards (1,500 Glimmer) that Eva sells. These grant you a random objective tied to the specific variety of Card you buy--a Crucible one might ask you to earn Void or Solar blows in the Crucible, for instance. These Cards can be repeatedly purchased, but the catch is that you can only hold one PvE one and one that covers Crucible and Gambit at a time, meaning you can't stack these. For the most part, these Cards cover distinct activities, anyway; you wouldn't be able to work on Lost Sector objectives while doing a raid, for instance.", 'Contender Cards grant a gold medallion upon completion, while Platinum Cards reward platinum medallions. You can stack bounties from Eva and other vendors, but those will only reward a mixture of XP and Bright Dust, rather than anything that specifically advances your progress in Guardian Games.', 'Event challenges provide another route to medallions, though only a limited number of them.', 'As an extra incentive, you can work through the Vying for Supremacy quest. This involves earning score in Guardian Games activities, beginning with Supremacy matches, to reach certain thresholds--starting at bronze and working upwards. By completing these steps, you can light the scoring torches at the Tower, which will earn you rewards and glows, helping you to stand out in the crowd and showcase your contributions to your class.', 'As in the past, the event card is an optional aspect of this seasonal event. Everyone receives the event card and can work on the associated event challenges and triumphs, the latter of which can unlock the new Champ title (as well as the Reveler title, which involves completing all 16 challenges from the four seasonal events).', "But you can also opt to upgrade your event card for 1,000 Silver, which immediately grants you three rewards: the Championship Dance emote, Barnstormer sparrow, and Coronal Bloom shader. Beyond that, you can then use the event tickets you earn from completing event challenges to unlock other rewards: the Gridiron Shell ghost shell, Darts emote, Colorful Motes Effects transmat effect, and Medal Collector Projection. All of these items available as part of the event card are cosmetic-only in nature. If you're unsure how much progress you'll make, you can wait to upgrade the event card until later in the event.", 'Separately from the event card, you can earn a number of rewards by just playing. There are the various rewards tied to each event challenge, as outlined above, and two weapons available as part of Guardian Games.', "The first is the returning Void submachine gun The Title. Although it isn't a new weapon, it does have new perk possibilities, the most noteworthy of which is Repulsor Brace.", "The other weapon is a brand-new one: Taraxippos. This is Destiny 2's first Strand scout rifle and is housed in the kinetic weapon slot.", "Both guns have an optional fifth-column origin trait choice that includes a new option, Classy Contender. This causes kills with the weapon to grant class ability energy. You should receive both guns shortly into beginning the Guardian Games activities, but you'll want to keep grinding away in order to obtain your ideal perk rolls.", 'As part of Guardian Games, there is a new Exotic sparrow to earn called Luminous Paragon. This is obtained by completing the Platinum event challenge, which involves banking a significant number of medallions at the podium during the course of the event.', 'Cashing in enough medallions will earn you the Competitive Catalyst quest. This will set you on the path to unlocking the Heir Apparent catalyst, which can apparently only be obtained during Guardian Games.', 'Also new is a set of armor ornaments for each class. These can be purchased outright from the Eververse store for 1,500 Silver, as can the equivalent Guardian Games ornament sets from 2021 and 2022. Alternatively, each of these three sets per class can be purchased for 6,000 Bright Dust--a hefty sum, but a nice way to obtain these cosmetics with currency earned by playing the game.', 'Finally, there are some other rewards you can earn from challenges located in the Director. Completing five matches of Supremacy in a given week will earn you a Pinnacle drop, with progress doubled if you join via the Supremacy playlist. (Your standard weekly "play three Crucible matches" Pinnacle challenge is also advanced through these matches.) Additionally, you can earn a Powerful Tier 1 reward by redeeming 25 medallions at the podium each week.', "Supremacy is a new game mode in Destiny 2 that returns from the original Destiny. Those who have played Call of Duty's Kill Confirmed or its many imitators will be right at home here. This is a team-based, deathmatch-style mode in which points are only scored by collecting an item dropped by slain enemies. Enemies can be denied those points by collecting the items dropped by your fallen teammates, making it essential to not just kill and avoid dying, but make tactical decisions on how and when to collect these crests."]

', 에바가 새로운 가디언 게임 클래스 아이템을 줄 것이고, 당신은 행사 동안 그것을 준비해야 한다. ", '이벤트 카드와는 별도로, 게임을 하는 것만으로도 많은 보상을 받을 수 있다. 이는 플래티넘 이벤트 챌린지를 완료함으로써 달성되는데, 이벤트가 진행되는 동안 시상대에서 상당한 수의 메달을 획득하는 것을 포함한다.
